/Wrists: We missed Immortal for another week.

I'm not going to do another long drawn out post but we missed Immortal again. Things were going very well. We cleared the first 12 bosses without issue. We then head to Sapphiron. Everything is going fine and then someone dies to a frost breath.

I was not on that side so I didn't see it happen, but several people said that he was behind the ice block. Some people are suggesting that it is a bug because of where the ice block was standing. When Sapp goes up in the air we collapse towards the head so that if bad luck strike and Sapp only does Ice blocks on one side that we can run and to the other side and get behind a block.

Well this block was on the stairs going towards KT, and apparently the person that got killed was a little higher then the block and got hit.

To make matters worse KT went perfectly.

This is so freaken nerve racking it sucks. Hopefully we have another week to get it. I would hate to get so close so many times to miss it.

We had someone die on Sapph last night to the same problem, he was definitely behind, and well ahead of the breath (it wasn't a case of him jumping in at the last minute) but he dropped dead.

This is why I don't like the Immortal achievement. I appreciate the INTENTION of the achievement, that the intention is that it takes skill and precision to complete.. but in reality it is only partly skill. When an entire week's effort is destroyed by bad luck, bugs, or stability problems, it's just infuriating.

Good luck with it! I think you'll be right for another 2 weeks, yet!

Hi, the way our guild did Sapp - to avoid ice block on only 1 side - is for the entire raid to be spread out ONLY on the left side of the area. Basically, left of KT entrance where it is flat and yet it will serve the same purpose. Minor change but it will definitely help in my opinion.

Good luck mate. All the best for the achievement and the dragon! As we chinese say Jia You! Lazer Turkey shall overcome all

Sometimes it looks like you are behind, but you´re not. The way to check this is trying to use some spell on sapph, if you have the message "out of line of sight" then you safe. I know sometimes, or some classes, might not have range enought to this test. but so far is the best I could find

Heya Graylo - It's not funny about that one death on Sapph but I'm surprised that your raiders didn't know about that bug - if a raider is behind an iceblock and is on a different level (like that outer edge around the room, or the stairs), they *will* get hit by the breath. We just call the people that die to that "Peeping Toms" because it's like they're peeping out from the iceblock and get slammed in the face XD.

Good luck next week : )

I had the same thing happen to me last night, but it was the 3rd last boss and someone epic failed on Thaddius :(

As others mentioned, if the ice blocked person is on the snow by the entrance, then you will end up being higher than the block and get nailed. You need to stay in the actual room on flat ground.

I don't know if this is an actual bug as much as the game mechanics in terms of height.

Good luck next week!

This is why achievements can suck. I won't pretend to give you advice on how to enjoy a video game, but if I did it would involve suggesting relaxation.

I sympathize! We decided not to try for the Immortal in our 25-man raid (we'd have to bench our Australian contingent, who die to lag several times a raid), but have been working on the Undying in a dedicated, 10-man group. We lost it last week to a combination of server lag and an unlucky iceblock with 6% left to go on Kel'thuzad. It's a thoroughly nerve-wracking experience.

We had a similar tragedy while attempting our second Undying group in 10 man Naxx. With only 3 bosses after Gluth our warlock with full health had a stam buff fall off at the same time as decimate and it killed him instantly. The rest of the bosses went flawlessly...

We lost the undying last week in KZ. Void spawned in main tank -> main tank disconnected at that exact same moment -> Main tank died. I hate this achievement…

Ouch! There are no words for how much that sucks. Better luck next week. Seems like you guys are getting closer and closer every week. Maybe next week will finally get it for you. :)

It's such a dumb achievement. I'm not much of an achievement person myself. I've been playing the game so long now that the novelty of limited items and stuff like this wears off eventually. However, I really wish they didn't have stuff like this. I'm all for boss specific achievements or achievements for clearing the dungeon, but this one particular achievement causes so much stress and drama. That and these achievements for killing bosses with a less then full raid (but that's a whole different story).

As others have stated all this achievement does is force people to not participate due connection problems or similar issues. Bugs, lag, and the random number generator can spoil 25 peoples week of fun. I think the big downer for people is that you can't try again for a week. If you want to try Sarth 3d you can get as many tries as you really want in a week, but with Immortal/Undying it's one screw up and your done.

I guess I'm all for adding achievements that provide repeated chances when it comes to dungeons, but the drama this one and a few others cause is really frustrating. It's no fun for me to play with people who want this stuff and then I have to hear fights or how sad they are cause they can't get something they've worked hard for.
